Qualifications:
Native Arabic speaker, English fluency, French speaking is a plus
Love for children
Bachelor degree
Strong computer skills (literate with Google Suite, Skype and Zoom knowledge)
Good communication skills
Good collaborative skills
Knowledge of teaching foreign languages to children is a plus
Teaching experience is a plus, but is not necessary
Requirements:
Attend two Skype interviews
Candidates must be able to attend all training sessions prior to teaching
Assist in adapting/refining curriculum in order to meet individual student needs and increase its quality
Monitor and assess student performance
Fill up student reviews for parents
Be available for a minimum of a full 10-weeks session per student
Legal authorization to work in the US is indispensable if you reside in he US.
Compensation:
Hourly compensation commensurate with experience.

Online Cultural Content Creator
Position Description: Cultural Content Creator
Alefb Online is seeking a passionate and skilled **Cultural Content Creator & Documentation Specialist** to gather authentic cultural information from local communities, film and record various cultural practices, and document these stories to create learning material for our Arabic language and culture programs. This role plays a key part in preserving and sharing the rich heritage of the Arab world, ensuring that learners experience Arabic through its authentic cultural context.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Community Engagement & Research
– Engage with local communities, artisans, and cultural experts to collect stories, traditions, and cultural knowledge relevant to the Arab world’s heritage.
– Conduct interviews and discussions to gain deeper insights into regional customs, food, music, festivals, folklore, and other cultural practices.
– Research historical and contemporary cultural expressions to ensure diverse representation across various regions.
2. Filming & Recording
– Plan and conduct fieldwork to film and record cultural practices, traditional arts, crafts, festivals, and community life.
– Capture high-quality video and audio content (e.g., interviews, performances, daily activities) for use in educational materials.
– Ensure that all content reflects the authenticity and richness of local traditions, preserving their nuances for educational use.
3. Content Documentation & Storytelling
– Document collected cultural material, ensuring it is well-organized and accessible for content development.
– Create written summaries, transcriptions, and culturally relevant notes that accompany the audiovisual material.
– Develop engaging, culturally accurate narratives for learners that tie in with Arabic language lessons, providing context for vocabulary, expressions, and cultural practices.
– Ensure all cultural content is gathered and presented with respect for the communities involved, maintaining ethical standards throughout the process.
4. Collaboration with Educators & Curriculum Designers
– Work closely with Alefb’s language educators and curriculum developers to integrate the cultural content into learning materials.
5. Editing & Post-Production
– Assist in the editing process of collected videos and audio to create polished, educational content.
– Ensure that the final materials are clear, engaging, and appropriate for learners of varying language levels.
Qualifications:
– Education: Degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Media, Arabic Studies, or a related field. Alternatively, extensive experience in cultural documentation and community engagement.
– Experience:
– Experience with video filming, audio recording, and editing software (e.g., Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Audacity)
– At least 2–3 years of experience in content creation, cultural documentation, or ethnographic research
– Familiarity with the Arab world’s diverse cultures and languages.
– Skills:
– Proficiency in video production, sound recording, and editing.
– Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse communities.
– Ability to create compelling narratives around cultural practices.
– Knowledge of digital content platforms and tools for content management.
– Fluent in Arabic (both Modern Standard and regional dialects preferred) and English.
