PRACTICE ARABIC & MAKE A FRIEND

Join us, whether you’re a registered student at Alefb or not. Connect with children your age who share your interests. Through Alefb’s #Sawa4Good initiative, students aged 8 to 18 can connect from anywhere in the world. Let’s build the #Sawa4Good friendship network together!

Here, students can connect freely and securely, exchanging hopes, dreams, concerns, and everyday updates in any language and format they prefer.

As of August 12, 2020, we are excited to introduce an extension to our Arabic Online program: the Alefb #Sawa4Good initiative, connecting students aged 8 to 18 worldwide. Together, we build the #Sawa4Good friendship network—a safe space for students to freely exchange hopes, dreams, concerns, and updates in any language or format they choose.

This initiative serves as a positive outlet during times of trauma and stress, providing support to children facing challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic, changes in schooling, and recent events like the Black Lives Matter movement and the August 4, 2020 explosion in Lebanon. Through #Sawa4Good, students can find solace in knowing they are not alone.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Students from Lebanon and Alefb’s network complete the Sawa4Good survey to be matched with a friend from across the globe.
Step 2: While awaiting their match, Alefb students can contribute messages of hope and support to our collective Digital Postcard, which will be sent to students in Lebanon via our partners such as SoS villages and Assabil Libraries.
Step 3: Once matched, Alefb will facilitate an introduction email for every pair of students, encouraging regular correspondence through chat, mail, email, or any preferred method.
Step 4: The #Sawa4Good friendship network begins!

Throughout the process, Alefb will provide support to members of the network, organizing Zoom group conversations and potentially arranging in-person visits in the future.

Help us spread the word so we can support each other during these challenging times. Stay well and do good!”
